Tokyo SSC Mission

Sailing Club - To provide high quality, affordable, easy to access sailing education and boat access. From entry-level to racing & long-distance cruising. All of our programs are conducted in English.

Social Club - To build a community of like-minded individuals who wish to enjoy the great gifts Japan has to offer while enjoying the outdoors. These events are designed to build intercultural communication, as the host will be conducting the events in English. Our events will also focus on building connections with the community, both in Tokyo and in Shonan. Our Social Club will also host fundraising events to foster a positive impact in our community.

Vision

We see things going beyond local sailing and leadership training cohorts. Even beyond Japan’s borders.

We aim to take people of all walks of life out on the beautiful waters of Shonan. Be it your desire to sail every weekend throughout the year, or simply a curiosity to learn, we will take you out on the water!

Impact

For-profit entities have a rich set toolbox to measure performance.

For social-impact focused entities, things are a work in progress.

We measure our impact by looking at three variables.

Quantity – as many young ambitious minds as we can get into the program.

Quality of experience – A bit more challenging, but factors like repeat customers, satisfaction surveys… There are a number of ways to assess the quality of our programs.

Time - After our participants leave the program, are they continuing to participate in the communities we created? One of our concepts is to create a society of Doers. That’s both a number of people and the quality of the experience of our programs.
